March for Life: Part I

As many of you baby loving, rosary praying, Eucharist receiving brothers and sisters in Christ may know, tomorrow is the 2008 March for Life in Washington, D.C. It takes place on the 22 of January to memorialize the anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court ruling of Roe v. Wade.
I, like many of you, have other worldly obligations that prevent me from marching with the good, strong people who are able to make a stand against the culture of death and celebrate life through participating in this powerful display of strength from the culture of love and of life. However, we can all help by praying both for those who are present in our nation's capitol for the March for Life, and for the movement they support.

LORD Jesus Christ,
We ask that you bless your servants present at the March for Life, and the pro-life movement for which they march. May your healing, life-giving love be spread through the efforts of these servants, and all those who advocate for life from conception to natural death.
AMEN.

Help Support Discerning Sainthood!

Hi readers,

I love to write this blog alongside my beautiful fiancee, Jenny, and we will continue to write it for as long as people are reading it. In the past we've expanded the blog into a small Catholic-theme shop on cafepress.com, in efforts of bringing Catholic culture to the mainstream world in the form of t-shirts, bumper stickers, etc. And in bringing Catholic culture, one brings opportunities to discuss the Gospel.

I'm afraid now though, that the discerning sainthood store is no longer paying for itself. I'm posting this entry in an effort to give those of you who might have never visited the store a chance to go there and find something for yourself or a friend. I'm also posting this entry in hopes that sales may boost a little bit and we can keep the shop open.

Thanks for your continued support. Here's the store link...

One Prayer a Day

I hadn't really publicized that I was doing this, but after finding that some people really found it nice and even inspiring, I've decided to bring it to your attention. As a new year's resolution I decided to start a new blog where I write a prayer every day for all of 2008. So far it's good, really good. It really brings perspective to what I'm thinking about and who knows, maybe at the end of '08 I'll decide to continue it for '09.

I titled the blog "One Prayer a Day," an appropriate title I do think. I chose to host it on StBlogs in an effort to support a Catholic blogging community. You can read it and subscribe to it here...

Comments and emails are appreciated. God bless you.

Pictures from a Pakistan Christmas

The following are some images Nadeem sent me from Christmas activities in Pakistan. You might remember Nadeem from an exclusive interview I did with him a little while back. To remind you, Nadeem is a persecuted Catholic and the first pakistani Oblate (OSB). He teaches Sunday school to children in his Christian community compound. Click on the images to enlarge them.

Please pray for Nadeem and his community in Pakistan. If you're interested in donating anything to his cause, please email me at discerningsainthood@gmail.com and I can see that it's sent to him. Thank you.
